TxSSC and Texas Schools
The TxSSC serves as the clearinghouse for key school safety initiatives for K-12 schools and junior colleges throughout Texas. The TxSSC offers a variety of toolkits to assist schools with their safety programs such as emergency operations planning and conducting drills/exercises. In particular, the TxSSC offers a Basic Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) Toolkit and several specific annex toolkits to assist school personnel when creating a district’s multi-hazard emergency operations plan as required by Texas Education Code 37.108. Additionally, the TxSSC offers the K-12 Standard Response Protocol Toolkit (Texas Edition), which offers guidance and resources for responding to all types of critical incidents. The TxSSC also offers a variety of training opportunities for schools to learn about the latest best practices in school safety.
