Attorney General Greg Abbott needs your help to find Child Support Evader Adrian Garnette McDaniel, one of the Most Wanted Child Support Evaders in Texas. McDaniel, who was named a Child Support Evader in January 2006, owes $22,277 for a six-year old son from San Antonio. McDaniel has abandoned his child by going underground to elude officials and avoid arrest on his child support case.
In 2000, McDaniel was ordered to make child support payments of $257 per month. He did not follow the court's order to care for his child and by January 2003 owed more than $12,000 in unpaid child support. McDaniel was given many chances to catch up on his payments, but refused to do so. When he did not appear at a February 2004 enforcement hearing, an arrest warrant was issued.
McDaniel has not made a child support payment in over a year. Due to missed payments and interest that accrues on unpaid child support, he now owes more than $22,000.
Law enforcement and investigators from the Attorney General's office are searching the state for McDaniel, who may be working for cash or be self-employed to avoid garnishment of wages to pay child support. If you have information about McDaniel's location, please contact the Attorney General's office at 1-866-EVADERS (382-3377).
Child Support Evaders are singled out because they have the ability to take responsibility for their children, but refuse to do so. Incarceration is the only option for parents who flagrantly ignore a court's order to pay child support. The Attorney General's office helps parents who lack the ability to pay child support by referring them to job training and employment services.
