Weekly Updates from Attorney General Ken Paxton: January 27, 2017
When President Obama gave his first inaugural address, it was an emotional moment in American history. There stood the country’s first African-American president, a man who overcame the struggles of the past, yet who promised a united future, free from embitterment. He was a candidate elected on the wings of hope and change. Eight years later, I can attest that the president’s campaign pledge was at best a hollow victory.

Have you had the chance to read the op-ed I published on FoxNews.com? I held former President Obama’s feet to the coals for his hypocrisy regarding health care reform. For the last few months he and his party have done little else but gripe that Republicans’ determination to repeal Obamacare was heartless and exhibited a callous disregard for this country’s most vulnerable citizens. In the face of evil, it is often all too easy to become overwhelmed by what we cannot change. For the sake of the men, women, and children caught within the nightmare that is modern-day slavery, I ask that we as a state focus instead on what is in our power to control. That is the power of one, and that is what my office seeks to facilitate as we work our way through Human Trafficking Awareness Month.

Weekly Updates from Attorney General Ken Paxton: January 6, 2017
What a year 2016 has been! From start to finish, it read like a fast paced Tom Clancy thriller. Each month brought something new and unexpected. For conservatives, the year ended on a high note. Voters rejected the heir apparent of President Obama and elected instead a tenacious, outspoken businessman, who promises to cut through the shroud of corruption that lingers over Washington, DC. America finally stands poised to roll back the avalanche of illegal actions that have beset its best and brightest these last eight years.

Weekly Updates from Attorney General Ken Paxton: December 16, 2016
There are certain hallmark moments that seem forever associated with the Christmas season. I personally enjoy the office parties. It gives me a chance to individually thank the thousands of men and women who work hard every day at the attorney general’s office to bring law and order to Texas. However, those laws are sometimes ignored or misinterpreted, resulting in unnecessary limitations on Texans’ constitutional freedoms. In this instance, a public school decided that their commitment to diversity does not extend to Christians.
