CORNYN PRESENTS PEACE OFFICER OF THE YEAR AWARD
Ft. Worth and Pleasanton police officers honored
AUSTIN - Texas Attorney General John Cornyn today presented the Peace Officer of the Year Award to Fort Worth police officer Lieutenant Mark Krey and Pleasanton police officer Louis Edward Tudyk.
"I congratulate Lieutenant Krey and Officer Tudyk on this honor. They exemplify the standard that all peace officers should follow. Texas has much to be proud of because of Lieutenant Krey and Officer Tudyk and the other hard-working peace officers that serve throughout the State,"Attorney General Cornyn said.
Lieutenant Krey took a lead role after the shooting at Wedgewood Baptist Church last September. Lieutentant Krey was involved in supervising the scene and the ensuing investigation that followed the shooting.
Officer Tudyk was one of the first officers to arrive at the scene of the ambush shooting in Atascosa County last October. Despite being shot with a high-powered assault rifle by one of the assailants, Tudyk returned fire to the suspects and was able to continue investigating the case.
The Peace Officer of the Year Award presentation was part of the Criminal Law Enforcement Conference held in Austin.
