Merril Leroy Jessop Sentenced to 75 years in Prison for Sexually Assaulting a 15-year-old Girl

Statement from Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott:

"A San Angelo jury today sentenced Merril Leroy Jessop of Eldorado to 75 years in prison and ordered him to pay a $10,000 fine for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl. We appreciate the jury's service and respect their decision.

Merril Leroy Jessop is the fourth YFZ Ranch resident convicted and sentenced for sexually assaulting a child. A total of 12 YFZ Ranch-related suspects have been indicted on sexual assault of a child, bigamy or other charges, and eight additional suspects are awaiting trial. All eight prosecutions will be handled by the Office of the Attorney General."
