Attorney General Abbott: West, Texas, Won’t Be Defined by Disaster or Obstacles

AUSTIN – Attorney General Abbott today responded to the approval of Texas’ appeal to the federal government for disaster aid to West, Texas:

“The people of West, Texas, haven’t allowed the uncertainty of federal disaster assistance to deter them from doing what Texans always do -- they overcome obstacles and adversity, no matter the circumstance. We are grateful for the work the people of West have already done in rebuilding their community and building each other up; now it’s time to utilize this disaster funding to begin to rebuild critical infrastructure in the town, including an entire school. We will continue working with leadership, first responders and the people of West to make sure they are supported through this long process.”
