Ms. Katheryn H. West
Dear Ms. West:
You ask whether certain information is subject to required public disclosure under the Texas Open Records Act, chapter 552 of the Government Code. Your request was assigned ID# 121801.
The City of Dallas received an open records request for certain 911 call reports for a specified location and time period. We believe that a prior ruling, Open Records Letter No. 98-2551 (1998) answers your questions concerning originating telephone numbers and addresses on 911 call reports. You may rely upon Open Records Letter No. 98-2551 as a previous determination on this issue under section 552.301 of the Government Code and thus need not ask this office again for a decision concerning these types of records.(1)
If you have any questions about this ruling, please contact our office. We are resolving this matter with an informal letter ruling rather than with a published open records decision. This ruling is limited to the particular records at issue under the facts presented to us in this request and should not be relied upon as a previous determination regarding any other records. If you have questions about this ruling, please contact our office.
Yours very truly,

1. Because you have submitted to this office representative samples of the records at issue, we
advise you to exercise caution in releasing other call reports that may contain confidential
information. See Gov't Code § 552.352.
