Dear Ms. Wheeler:

You ask this office to reconsider Open Records Letter No. 2000-2961 (2000). Your request was assigned ID# 139963.

Your request is invalid because the Seventy-sixth Legislature amended section 552.301 of the Public Information Act to provide that a governmental body is prohibited from asking for a reconsideration of the attorney general's decision. Gov't Code 552.301(f). Therefore, unless you file a timely challenge in district court, you must comply with Open Records Letter No. 2000-2961. If you have any questions regarding this letter, please contact our Open Government Hotline at (877) 673-6839.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Bialek
Assistant Attorney General
