Slavery Out of the Shadows - Spotlight on Human Trafficking

The Texas Young Lawyers Association, in conjunction with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, will present Slavery Out of the Shadows - Spotlight on Human Trafficking (SOS) at 3:00 in the courtroom of the Texas Supreme Court.  The CLE presentation will consist first of a presentation of the TYLA-produced SOS video followed by an expert panel discussion on the current issues involved in the crime of human trafficking.  For those interested, a reception will follow at the State Bar of Texas offices at 14th and Colorado. 

This course has been approved for 1.0 hour of MCLE credit, including .25 ethics hour, by the Sate Bar of Texas' MCLE Department.

Legal Ethics and Professional Responsibility

The objective of the Legal Ethics and Professional Responsibility CLE is to familiarize participants with various research strategies for searching primary and secondary legal materials, such as case law, court rules, statutes, law review articles, and treatises pertaining to legal ethics, and professional responsibility.  The presenter will also discuss basic computer-assisted legal research tasks, such as retrieving documents by citation, issue searching, digest searching, and verifying primary law using the KeyCite citation research service, in the context of legal ethics and professional responsibility research issues.

This course has been approved for 1.0 hour of MCLE credit, including 1.0 ethics hour, by the State Bar of Texas' MCLE department.
