Walk-in Cash Payments

Fidelity XPressPay

Point-of-Sale Fidelity XPressPay payments are an alternative to mailing checks or money orders for child support obligations. Payments are made at participating retail locations using cash. The payment is sent electronically by the retail agent to the Texas Child Support Disbursement Unit. The fee is $2 per child support payment.

Point-of-Sale Fidelity XPressPay Payments are:

  • Safe and Reliable. Reduces the risk of lost or unidentified payments.
  • Convenient. Locations in familiar places in your neighborhood.

Payments can be made at any Fidelity Express Authorized Location providing child support payment services. You will need the following information:

  • Your 10-digit case number
  • Your cause number (the identification number found on the court case that established the child support order)

In most cases, Fidelity XPressPay payments reach the Texas Child Support Disbursement Unit in two business days. Payments are then credited to the child support case.

Pay by Phone or Online Using a Credit Card

Smart e-Pay Credit Card Payments

Child support payments can now be made online at tx.smartchildsupport.com or by phone at 1-855-853-8286 using a credit card.  Smart e-Pay is a new, secure web-based solution for making child support payments by using credit cards.  A convenience fee will be applied to only credit card payments. Contact your card provider to find out more information regarding any additional fees that may apply.

Pay by Bank Draft

Smart e-Pay is a web-based solution for making child support payments. This payment method debits your bank account through a secure, internet-based system at no charge. Smart e-Pay enables you to save and maintain payment information. You can set up your payment schedule to debit your bank account weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly schedule to match the requirements of your court order. Electronic child support payments typically arrive at the state collection center within seven (7) business days of the effective date of the debit specified by the user. There is no mail time and no potential for missing or lost checks.

Pay by mail

If your payments have been ordered to be paid through the State Disbursement Unit, you can mail a check or money order payment to the State Disbursement Unit (SDU). Please ensure the following information is included on your check or money order:

  • Your 10-digit case number
  • Your cause number (the identification number found on the court case which establishes the child support order)
  • Noncustodial parent's name
  • Custodial parent's name (optional but preferred)

If not specified otherwise in your court order, make checks payable to the Office of the Attorney General.
