Handbags for Hope

Our office invites you to participate in the Texas Advocacy Project’s “Handbags for Hope” campaign, March 1-31, 2017. Donations of new or gently used handbags will be given to domestic violence survivors on Mother’s Day. The goal is to provide survivors with information about free legal help, safety, and new beginnings. The Texas Advocacy Project will insert a discreet tag inside each purse with the group’s toll-free legal line, along with safety planning and economic empowerment pamphlets. Last year, “Handbags for Hope” benefited more than 14,000 women and their children.

We will have collection bins for public drop off at these two Austin offices:

  1. William Clements Building, 300 West 15th Street
  2. Price Daniel Building, 209 West 14th Street

To read more about the campaign, and find other drop-off locations, visit the Handbags for Hope site here.
