Attorney General Ken Paxton today applauded former Texas Solicitor General James C. Ho’s U.S. Senate confirmation to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. President Trump nominated Ho in September 2017, a decision Attorney General Paxton fully supported.

“As his previous work and testimony showed, Jim Ho is a brilliant legal mind,” Attorney General Paxton said. “I was proud to recommend him to President Trump and I am confident that he will faithfully adhere to our country’s founding principles.”

Ho previously served as Solicitor General of Texas under then-Attorney General Greg Abbott and as Chief Counsel to U.S. Senator John Cornyn. He clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and Judge Jerry E. Smith of the 5th Circuit. He is currently a partner in Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, and co-chair of the firm’s Appellate and Constitutional Law practice group.
