Attorney General Ken Paxton today announced that the Child Exploitation Unit of his office arrested 43-year-old Christopher Carl Camacho, of Kempner, Texas, on charges of online solicitation of a minor.

The Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office referred this case to the Attorney General’s Office following an investigation of sexually explicit communications between Camacho and an 11-year-old child. Camacho traveled to a meeting location with the intention of engaging in sexual acts with the child, where he was taken into custody and transported to Lampasas County Jail.

Attorney General Paxton’s office works to protect children by using the latest technology to track down some of the most profoundly evil predators online. Since its inception, the Child Exploitation Unit has made 264 arrests and obtained 194 convictions on charges for online solicitation of a minor.

Attorney General Paxton urges all parents and teachers to become aware of the risks children face on the internet and take steps to help ensure their safety. If you suspect someone is attempting to sexually exploit a child or is producing and/or downloading child pornography online, report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
