Today a federal court invalidated significant portions of the Environmental Protection Agency’s greenhouse gas rules as unlawful and directed the agency to rescind and revise its regulation following a lawsuit filed by Texas and other petitioners. Attorney General Ken Paxton issued the following statement:
“From overreaching EPA regulations, to illegal executive amnesty, to the Department of Labor’s attempts to override state law, the Obama Administration’s ongoing pattern of willfully circumventing Congress is intrusive and dangerous to the lives and livelihoods of American citizens. Today’s decision by a federal court rejecting significant portions of the EPA’s greenhouse gas rules as unlawful represents another step toward reining in an out-of-control federal government. I will continue to defend hardworking Texans from these types of lawless and harmful actions by this administration.”
