Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton today announced that the Child Support Division of his office received the 2017 award for the Best Mobile/Wireless Project from the Center for Digital Government. The award recognizes the Child Support Division for their work on the Child Support Interactive Mobile Web and Kiosk Project.
The project provides parents with mobile friendly access to the Child Support Interactive web portal. Child support kiosks were also implemented as part of this project. They are located in the child support office lobbies and provide parents with a self-service option to view and print case information. The mobile-accessible site and kiosk access are provided on a secured network.
“Texas has the best child support office in the nation and today’s award reflects their continued efforts in making the child support process easy and accessible to everyone regardless of their access to technology,” Attorney General Paxton said. “I commend their hard work and the services they provide Texans and their families.”
The attorney general's Child Support Division is directed by state and federal law to assist Texas families who currently receive or have received public assistance and families who request child support services. Services include locating absent parents; establishing paternity for children born to unmarried parents; establishing, enforcing, and modifying child and medical support orders; and collecting and distributing child support payments.
