The Department of Public Safety closed its administrative offices in the City of Austin January 31 through February 2, 2023, due to a significant ice storm. These offices reopened on February 3, 2023, at 10:00am although some administrative offices remain without power. Following the guidelines in Government Code Section 552.2211, the Department’s staff working remotely has made a good faith effort to continue responding to applications for public information, to the extent staff have access to responsive public information while its administrative offices were closed.
The Department is filing this catastrophe notice to provide notice that some requests for rulings from the Office of the Attorney General may be submitted after the period required by Government Code Section 552.301 and some responsive records will be released after the period required by Government Code Section 552.221.
