The Law Clerk Program introduces qualified first-year and second-year law students from around the country to the rewarding and diverse legal work of the Office of the Attorney General (OAG).  Law clerks are selected through an electronic application process or through on-campus interviews (OCI) at Texas law schools during the fall semester for the following summer.

Law clerks work under the direct supervision of Assistant Attorneys General.  Summer clerkships are generally for six to eight weeks. 

Important Dates for 2019 - 2020

August 1, 2019:  First date 2L non-OCI applicants may apply
October 15, 2019:  Last date 2L non-OCI applicants may apply
December 1, 2019:  First date 1L non-OCI applicants may apply

To apply, interested law students must submit a cover letter, a résumé, and the latest available transcript via email to RecruitmentCoordinator@oag.texas.gov.  The cover letter must identify at least three OAG divisions for possible placement.
